for Grades 4-5

Great Books Explorers Program
on the Campus of Stanford University!

The renowned Great Books Summer Program now offers a very special day program for rising grades 4-5, giving advanced younger students an early taste of Great Books style learning.

One-weeks sessions: July 6-10 and July 13-17, 2026.

Activities are designed to encourage a love of reading, fuel a thirst for knowledge, and foster self-expression skills both in discussion and through creative writing.

Critical Thinking, the Arts, & More.
Led in our traditional style of Shared Inquiry, students will build skills in close reading, critical thinking, writing, and discussion. Arts & crafts, games, theater, and lots of summer fun adventuring on the Stanford campus too!

Great Books Explorers is an ideal program for those from or staying in the Palo Alto area this summer, especially younger siblings of current Great Books students. Day camp hours are 8:30am – 3pm with morning drop off beginning at 8am.
