On the Campus of: Stanford University

In 2026, we are pleased to launch our 23rd year as guests on the campus of Stanford University. With majestic California palms and breathtaking views of the Santa Cruz mountains, this 8,000 acre campus is an idyllic setting for a summer of Great Books.

Founded in 1885, Stanford has been considered one of the finest universities ever since.  Stanford’s areas of excellence span seven schools along with research institutes, the arts, and athletics. Nestled in California’s Silicon Valley, Stanford is a place of discovery, creativity, and innovation. Spots of interest on the stunning campus include the Stanford Memorial Church and The Dish ( a 150ft diameter radio telescope that is still in use.) Stanford’s students, faculty, and staff use their discovery and application of knowledge to improve the lives of people around the world.
