Tuition Savings & Scholarships. For Rising Grades 6-8 and 9-12.
In appreciation for all that you do to help Great Books bring our learning community to Amherst each summer for 25 years, we’re inviting the inquisitive young readers, writers, thinkers, and leaders in your life to join us.

Amherst staff families and extended families are invited to enroll and save 50% on day program tuition or apply for a need-based full scholarship to our day program. Savings and scholarships are for the week of June 28 for both our middle school (rising grades 6-8) and our high school (rising grade 9-12) Great Books & Big Ideas Programs.

Dive into the fiery debates and bold ideas that forged our democratic republic during this special week of Great Books & Big Ideas. celebrating the 250th
anniversary of the founding of the United States. What does freedom mean? What makes a just society?

Students will grow close reading, critical thinking, reasoning, and discussion skills as we explore the big ideas in foundational texts including the Declaration of Independence and works by Locke, MLK, Thoreau, Frederick Douglass. and others.

Apply by May 20, 2026.

Day program regular cost $1950. Now $970 for Amherst families for the week of June 28 – July 4.
