Stephanie Kate Strohm

Stephanie Kate Strohm is a young adult novelist and former Great Books Summer Program Assistant at the Amherst campus.

Her debut novel, Pilgrims Don’t Wear Pink was published in 2012 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Graphia imprint and was widely praised for its combination of historical fact and whimsy. Publisher's Weekly called it a “clever, tightly written book” and Kirkus Reviews praised Stephanie's "sense of slapstick and ear for one-liners. " Library Journal recommended it to "fans of romantic comedy," and VOYA (Voices of Youth Advocates) called it "a nearly perfect book for teens." The second installment in the series, Confederates Don’t Wear Couture, is being published on June 4th 2013.

After graduating from Middlebury College with a degree in theater and history (and the tiara of a Winter Carnival Queen), Stephanie spent four years acting professionally in 22 different states, and co-founded a summer Shakespeare theater in Maine. She grew up in Connecticut and now lives in New York City with her boyfriend, her dog, and a very large collection of shoes.

She’s currently at work on a new YA series.
