Edinburgh Awaits. Join Us!

Academic Travel Adventure for Grades 9-12 & Gap Year

The renowned Great Books Summer Program is returning to Edinburgh this summer. Come journey with us into in the heart of the ancient and magical land of Mary Queen of Scots, Braveheart, and Robert the Bruce. Together we delve deeply into the literary and philosophical heritage of Scotland, a small country whose thinkers, poets, and novelists nonetheless shaped the history of literature in English!

Enriching Academics, Cultural Exploration, Friendship, & Fun
During this wide-ranging and exciting exploration of Scottish literature and philosophy, we’ll consider the problem of free will and the social origins of morality through the works of philosophers of the eighteenth-century Scottish Enlightenment, read poetry by Scotland’s greatest historical and living poets, and more!

In the afternoons and evenings, we will explore the magnificent landscapes and neighborhoods on and around Edinburgh’s bustling and beautiful Royal Mile to experience the best of Edinburgh’s culture and history. Outings may include the National Museum, Greyfriars Kirkyard, Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh Castle, Mary King’s Close, Scottish Storytelling Centre and other points of literary and historical significance.
